As a guest you will enjoy Seven nights in the excellent family run Hotel La Pia in Montecatini inc. Breakfasts , evening meals -4 course with wine. Transfers to and from Pisa airport, excursions to Florence and two Medieval villages to paint- all tuition and transport included .

Day 1.Tuesday 29th May. Arrival at Hotel . The Flight from Dublin to Pisa arrives at 12.55 where you will be met by a courier and taken to your hotel by taxi. When we settle in to the hotel, we will have a little time to meet informally with fellow guests and your tutor (me !) and plan the week ahead taking into account the aspirations of each student – If everyone agrees I will offer some initial instruction on composition and methods of painting outdoors and gathering visual information and advice on materials. A question and answer session will follow before a delicious freshly cooked dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 Wednesday 30th May. Breakfast at hotel
Morning - Montecatini Terme - Guided half day tour in Montecatini & entrance ticket to Tettuccio spa. and welcome drink. in the historical café, situated inside the Tettuccio building.
Montecatini is a spa town known for its natural curative springs. Many conditions from arthritis to respiratory problems benefit from the famous natural thermal grotto. Curative and pampering treatments in the spas can be booked and availed of during the holiday. Anyone interested in going for a swim in the lovely pool at grottagiusti spa will be facilitated by a free bus shuttle service to the pool which is about 4 miles away. You have the option of 2 hours Painting tuition in Montecatini in the afternoon. Delicious freshly cooked dinner menu at the hotel.
Day 3. Thursday 31st May -Painting Breakfast at hotel. Travelling by mini bus to beautiful medieval villages Cozille and Colle, outdoor painting and tuition in sketching and painting with break for lunch in Massa.
Fold up artist chairs provided. Late afternoon return to Montecatini for a siesta and freshen up before dinner at the hotel.

Day 4. Friday 1st June
Florence Day
Breakfast at hotel. Morning - Departure for Florence by train from Montecatini , then by taxi to Piazziale Michaelangelo Experience a stunningly beautiful view of the city of Florence before visiting San Minato a church with 13th century mosaics and an 11th century crypt, -we 'll have a guided tour of the Basilica of Santa Croce -this is a must see - the most magnificent medieval church in Florence, featuring frescoes by Giotto, a chapel by Brunelleschi and one of the finest of all early Renaissance tombs. Lunch break.-Afternoon free to do your own thing – visit famous landarks or trust your artist's instincts and wander around.... the best way to experience Florence -a place I love to get lost in ! Meet up and return to Montecatini by train for delicious dinner menu at the hotel.

Day 5. Saturday 2nd June Painting
Breakfast at hotel. Morning - Painting outdoors in Montecatini Alta – A visit via cable car to historic upper town with spectaculat vistas and medieval streetscapes – a painters paradise. Lunch in Montecatini Alta. Afternoon - Free afternoon ( your choice – continue painting / go shopping , browse or just relax and people-watch in the cafes ). Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6. Sunday 3rd June

Free day or optional excursion to sea side town Viareggio by train .

Morning - Painting at hotel fountain and Montecatini area.
Afternoon free – time for yourself (your choice; continue painting – go shopping or just relax or take the opportunity to avail of curative and pampering treatments in the spa.) Dinner at the hotel.
Day 8. Tuesday 5th June
Departure for Pisa airport by bus in early morning 5 am to Pisa airport for flight at 7.05. to Dublin arriving 8.50
